With a Grief Reach grant from the New York Life Foundation, we invite you and your family to a FREE community event Saturday, April 30, 10:00 am- 2:00 pm at Point Vicente Lighthouse, 31550 Palos Verdes Dr W, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275

One of the most lonely places in the world is to be surrounded by life and yet feel completely disconnected from all of it.  This is often the experience of grief. A walk in nature allows us to find our place in it.  We can see, feel, hear, smell, even taste nature.  We begin to see that everything is connected and has been since before we showed up, and will stay connected well after we are gone. As we take it all in and slow down our energies to co-regulate and sync with nature, we realize we are not an intrusion but an expression of it all.  When this happens, we are not visiting nature, we are nature.

Join us anytime between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, The day will include a self-guided nature walk alone or with your family, free admission to Point Vicente Interpretive Center, and 2 guided nature walks with New Hope volunteer Susan Heisler (10:30 am & 12:30 pm). There will be a picnic area with Corn-Hole, Nature Bingo, face painting, snacks, and nature bags for the kids. This Family Nature Day is designed for all types of families, not just the traditional. It’s for individuals or families who have experienced the death of a loved one, and each family member is encouraged to attend.

We are at capacity for this event. Please join us on Saturday, June 4, for our next Family Program. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@newhopegrief.org or call 562-429-0075 ext 2. Thank You!
