How to Support Your Grieving Child After the Death of a Loved One
It’s not a surprise to learn that children grieve differently than adults. But still it is difficult for parents and caregivers to see the changes that may occur in mood and behavior when their children are grieving a loss.
The Parent Workshop: Ways to Support Grieving Children & Teens will give you a road map that will enable you provide the support your children need at this difficult time.
In this two-hour seminar you will learn :
- Healthy ways that children grieve,
- How to support your grieving child at home and at school, and
- How to know when extra help is needed and where to find it.
The workshop is a supportive environment where you will feel reassured and encouraged. Your workshop facilitator is Jen Leong, M.A., CT. Jen is a grief specialist and educator; she has worked with grieving children and adults since 2003. Offered under the leadership of New Hope’s Clinical Director, you will have the opportunity to have your questions answered by both Ms. Leong and Jerry Wilson, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who specializes in grief and loss.
