Since 2003, New Hope has offered family bereavement camps and retreats. New Hope Family camps and retreats are designed for all types of families, not just the traditional. It’s for families who have experienced the death of a loved one, and each family member is encouraged to attend. In a safe and supportive environment families explore their loss with other families touched by grief.
Families learn to communicate and face their grief through groups and workshops led by staff and trained facilitators that integrates peer support. Campers discover that they can live life in a changed world with a new relationship to their loved one who has died. Family Camp provides a balance of fun activities (sports, games, art, etc.) with grief education & exercises age appropriate for each member of the family.
Families will find comfort, hope, and healing while making new friends with other families who are also grieving a death. The purpose is that each family member is individually strengthened and supported so that the entire family can move forward together on their journey of grief to a place of new normal.
Our Camp Facilitators
Our facilitators are highly trained and compassionate volunteers who are there to support campers as they participate in activities and bond with one another. New Hope Directors oversee the facilitators throughout the entire weekend.
Camp is available on a first come, first serve basis. For questions please contact our Support Team at (562) 429-0075 ext 2 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Each year New Hope serves over campers providing hope and healing. Your gift will help to send a family member to camp so they will not have to grieve alone. Our camps rely on the generous support of wonderful donors like you who support us. Click Here to Sponsor A Camper
