2010 Long Beach Marathon
This year's Long Beach Marathon is October 17th, and New Hope Grief Support Community has once again been chosen as a featured charity in the event! We hope you will choose to help us raise $20,000 for our adult and kids programs that promote our message of Hope to the Long Beach community. Here's how you can be a part and help us reach our goal:
- Make a Contribution! - As a non-profit, New Hope Grief Support Community relies on the gifts and donations of people who believe in our mission statement- "to help grieving people find hope and healing." To make a contribution visit the website active.com/donate/newhopegrief10.
- Sponsor! - New Hope benefits from the Long Beach Marathon by having individuals run/walk one of the many events on October 17th, and have donors sponsor their efforts. Sponsor a participant! It's easy and can be done online, at any time. You can become an active fundraiser and also create a fundraising team by visiting the website ActiveGiving.com Donations.
- Participate! - Join our courageous group as we run various lengths of the race. From a 5k run/walk to a full marathon, everyone can take part. Register as soon as possible because prices will increase the closer we get to October and also the Marathon is capped this year so spots will fill up.
- Volunteer! - The Long Beach Marathon is our biggest event of the year! We will need a volunteer force of over 70 individuals (to serve, walk, bike, or run) over the course of October 15-17. Come help New Hope reach fundraising goals and promote our message of Hope to the Long Beach community by volunteering your time. This Marathon is a wonderful opportunity to honor the life and memory of loved ones you have lost. New Hope's "Run to Remember" Tshirts are currently being designed. Each year we honor lost loved ones by listing them on the back of our commemerative New Hope race shirt. We invite you to add the name of your lost loved one to this year's list of those we "run to remember". Tshirts may be purchased for $10 each. Deadline for names and to order tshirts is September 24th.
